COLOMBIA
Wearing a traditional peasant outfit and walking among coffee fields to pick some beans is possible when traveling to the municipality of Calarcá (Quindío), about an hour south of Cartago. There, you’ll find the Coffee Culture Tour (Recuca), a farm where visitors learn about coffee production and enjoy ‘bogadera,’ a refreshing drink made with panela, cinnamon, and lemon.
As you walk through the plantations, you can hear the songs of the pickers rising from the thick grass to become the voice of the mountain. These melodies remind us of the work and dedication that go into a cup of coffee. Tireless and hardworking hands select the best fruits and turn them into one of the most popular beverages in the world.
With dedication and love, the land is prepared where the seeds germinate and, after a few months, develop into chapolas—the first two round leaves of the coffee plant.
This is how a story is born, one that is already a tradition in this land of aromas and flavors. A noble craft that embodies the passion for coffee and Colombian culture.
